Amkov F3B

A slim digital camera that pairs wide, mid and telephoto lenses for a claimed 12x hybrid zoom

Editor’s view

Why it matters

Amkov frames the F3B around a common frustration with compact cameras: slow focus, limited zoom and soft long-distance shots. Its answer is what the company calls a triple-lens coordination system, combining a wide-angle, a mid-focus and a telephoto lens in a stackable lens design housed in an ultra-thin body. The F3B is presented as a Kickstarter project.

Three lenses, three jobs

The wide-angle lens uses a Sony 1/2.8" CMOS sensor with 12MP resolution, and the maker says a 64MP oversampling process merges lower-resolution images into a single sharper shot. It offers a 76.4° field of view, 2x digital zoom and 5cm autofocus for close-ups. The mid-focus lens has a 41° field of view, which Amkov positions for portraits of subjects around 3 meters away, with natural background blur. The telephoto lens narrows to 19°, is intended for subjects more than 7 meters away, and adds 3x digital zoom.

Combined, the company describes a 12x hybrid zoom built from 4x optical zoom and 3x digital zoom, letting users move from wide shots to close-ups without changing lenses.

Video, stills and controls

According to the maker, the F3B records 5K/30FPS video and captures 64MP stills, with a built-in microphone and speaker. Shooting modes include time-lapse, high-speed capture, burst shooting and a countdown timer. Manual options cover variable ISO, ±3EV exposure compensation, multiple white balance modes and anti-flicker technology. Framing and playback happen on a 2.8-inch IPS screen at 640×480.

  • Battery: dedicated NP-40, 1300mAh, with Type-C fast charging in 2–3 hours
  • Claimed runtime: up to 2 hours of continuous shooting or up to 1.5 hours of video
  • Storage: Micro SD cards up to 128GB
  • Wireless app control with live view, auto sync and one-touch sharing to a smartphone
  • Weight: 176g; wrist strap and protective cloth pouch included

The companion app, the maker says, can trigger the shutter, switch lens settings and transfer photos and videos to a phone without cables, which Amkov pitches for selfies, group shots and quick social sharing.
