Everline One Titanium

A single Grade 5 titanium body that grips swappable refills with its own tension: no click, cap or spring.

Why it matters

Most multi-function pens solve the problem of carrying several writing tools by packing in more mechanism. The Everline One Titanium goes the other way. The maker describes a single titanium body with no click button, no cap and no internal spring, into which different refills can be swapped, so the body stays the same while the way it writes changes.

The material is the mechanism

At the core is what the maker calls a clamp structure built from a single metal body and the tension of the material itself. Press the body lightly and an internal channel opens; insert a refill, release, and the body's own restoring force holds it in place. The Titanium model is machined from Grade 5 titanium, and according to the maker the shape was designed specifically for titanium rather than simply swapping the material into an existing form, since titanium machines and flexes differently from aluminum.

Refill changes require no tools: press, slide the refill in, let go. The maker also says the amount of tip exposed can be adjusted to taste, including one-handed fine-tuning by tilting the pen, whether you prefer a shorter tip for stability or a longer one for visibility.

One body, four kinds of refill

  • Graphite, for sketching and working through ideas
  • Color, for color-coding notes and planners
  • Ballpoint, for ink on documents and signatures
  • Eternal, a metal writing tip that uses no ink

According to the maker, the Titanium model accepts Everline's existing refills as they are. The pitch is less about the number of refill types than about keeping the same grip and body while changing what the pen does.

Three finishes

The titanium version is offered in three finishes, RAW, NEO and DLC. The underlying structure is the same across all three; the choice is aesthetic. Everline One Titanium is presented as a Kickstarter project.
