RIXEL
A titanium EDC pry bar that adds revolver-style bit storage, a fidget slider and a tritium slot
Editor’s view
Why it matters
Most everyday-carry tools exist for small, unglamorous moments: a loose screw, a stubborn lid, a bottle with no opener in sight. RIXEL, presented as a Kickstarter project, aims squarely at those moments. The maker positions it not as a simple pry bar but as a compact system that gathers several functions into a single titanium body.
Revolver-inspired bit storage
The headline feature is a revolver-style bit carrier. Rather than keeping bits in a separate case, RIXEL stores them in the tool itself, which the maker says reduces the familiar problem of having a driver but no tip. The revolver-inspired layout also gives the tool a visibly ordered, mechanical character.
What the maker lists
- Revolver-style bit storage
- Slot for a tritium tube, intended to make the tool easier to locate in the dark
- Fidget slider mechanism for idle hands
- Multi-function wrench system for minor nut and bolt adjustments
- Dual driver system
- Integrated bottle opener
- Titanium pry bar
- Two types of measuring scale
- Pocket clip
Titanium, sized for daily carry
According to the campaign, the titanium body is meant to balance strength with portability, and the maker emphasizes premium materials, precise finishing and attention to size and carry experience. The pry bar is pitched for tasks like lifting cardboard flaps or working into tight gaps where a fingernail or key might suffer.
The extras round out the concept. The tritium tube slot accepts a small self-luminous marker for low-light visibility, the fidget slider gives the tool something to do between tasks, and the pocket clip keeps it accessible rather than buried in a pocket or bag. The maker's pitch is less about replacing a full toolkit than about handling small fixes on the spot.
