Why it matters
What if writing an email, drafting an AI prompt, or navigating your computer could start with a few spoken words? TACO AI brings voice dictation, AI-powered text refinement, and intuitive controls together in one compact remote. Supporting over 100 languages and multiple devices, it offers a more flexible way to write, communicate, and get things done without constantly reaching for your keyboard and mouse.
Product Introduction
Sometimes, the hardest part of writing isn't knowing what to say. It's turning your thoughts into well-structured sentences while switching between documents, messages, and applications.
TACO AI offers a different approach. This palm-sized, circular remote combines a built-in microphone, touch controls, and customizable physical buttons, allowing you to dictate text, refine your writing, scroll through content, and switch between applications with one hand.
Paired with its companion software, Taco Hub, it brings voice input and everyday computer controls into a connected workflow. Instead of relying exclusively on traditional input devices, you can make speaking a natural part of how you work.
Key Features of TACO AI
Turn Natural Speech into Clear, Polished Writing
At the heart of TACO AI is its combination of voice dictation and AI-assisted text refinement.
Press the voice button and start speaking. Your words are converted into text and inserted into the active input field, making it possible to dictate emails, messages, documents, notes, and AI prompts without first opening a separate transcription window.
Taco Hub goes beyond straightforward speech recognition. It can remove filler words, eliminate unnecessary repetition, and interpret corrections made halfway through a sentence. It can also turn loosely expressed thoughts into clearer writing or more precise prompts for AI tools.
This changes the way you approach a first draft. Rather than carefully constructing every sentence before typing, you can express your ideas conversationally and let AI help organize the wording.
Speak first, refine second. It's a practical approach for anyone who wants to spend more time communicating ideas and less time composing the initial text.
Speak Across More Than 100 Languages
TACO AI supports voice dictation in over 100 languages, making it suitable for multilingual communication and writing.
Its multilingual recognition can handle speech containing more than one language, including language changes within a single sentence. Translation mode adds another useful option: select a target language, speak naturally, and have your words converted into text in the chosen language.
The handheld design also brings the microphone closer to your mouth. Its microphone array works alongside noise-reduction technology to help capture speech while reducing interference from surrounding sounds.
In quieter environments, this close-range positioning makes soft-spoken dictation more practical, without needing to project your voice toward a laptop or desktop microphone.
Whether you're composing multilingual messages or preparing text in another language, TACO offers a voice-first alternative to switching between conventional typing and translation tools.
Scroll, Switch Apps, and Trigger Shortcuts with One Hand
TACO AI is designed to function as a third input device alongside your keyboard and mouse, rather than simply acting as a microphone.
Its integrated touch panel lets you scroll through documents, webpages, and lengthy AI conversations. Built-in app-switching controls also help you move between recently used applications without repeatedly reaching for your mouse.
Physical buttons provide immediate access to frequently used actions.
Through Taco Hub, the Action Button can be configured with three separate commands: one for a single tap, another for a double tap, and a third for a triple tap.
You can assign keyboard shortcuts to these gestures and customize the controls displayed on the remote's screen.
The result is a more personalized interface that keeps your preferred functions within easy reach. For workflows involving frequent reading, dictation, and application switching, that means fewer interruptions between individual actions.
Go Beyond Dictation with AI-Powered Computer Commands
On macOS and Windows, Taco Hub also supports agentic commands, allowing you to request certain computer actions using natural language.
Instead of manually navigating through multiple steps, you can ask the software to open applications, search for information, or send an email.
This extends voice input beyond writing into computer interaction, making TACO a useful companion for workflows involving AI-assisted tasks.
The remote also features RGB lighting and haptic feedback for notifications.
When a supported AI agent, such as Claude or Codex, completes a task or requires approval, Taco can notify you through the handheld device. This helps you stay aware of important updates without continuously watching your computer screen.
Agentic computer commands are currently available on macOS and Windows. On iOS and Android, TACO supports voice dictation but does not provide the same voice-controlled system actions.
Switch Between Computers and Smartphones with Ease
TACO AI supports Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android, allowing the same handheld controller to work across multiple devices.
Once paired, you can switch between remembered Bluetooth devices with a tap on the remote's display.
For example, you can use TACO to draft a document on your computer, then switch to your smartphone to dictate a message—all without changing your primary input device.
Initial pairing is handled through Taco Hub. On a Mac or Windows computer, the included USB-C cable is used for setup before switching to Bluetooth. On iOS and Android, pairing is completed by scanning a QR code displayed on the remote.
TACO also supports Wi-Fi connectivity. When the remote and computer share the same Wi-Fi network, computer control can extend beyond normal Bluetooth range, subject to network coverage.
Its dictation capability works in most standard text fields across applications and websites, including Gmail, Slack, Notion, ChatGPT, Claude, and Cursor.
You can also configure TACO's buttons to work with shortcuts in preferred applications, including supported third-party dictation tools.
Compact Design with Flexible Software Options
Measuring approximately 55 mm in diameter and 15 mm thick, TACO AI brings several input methods into a compact, circular body designed for handheld use.
The remote supports Bluetooth 5 Low Energy and contains a 500 mAh rechargeable lithium-polymer battery.
Its listed power specifications include approximately 12 hours of standby time and around 1.5–2 hours for a full recharge. Wireless charging is also supported.
Taco Hub provides additional flexibility through both offline and online processing options.
Offline dictation and text cleanup can run locally on your device, while online AI features use connected services. Built-in agentic commands currently require online processing.
The companion software includes an ongoing free plan, offering 2,500 words of dictation and two hours of meeting recording and AI summaries per week, along with a limited allowance for agentic commands.
Users who need unlimited dictation or expanded AI usage can choose the paid Taco Pro plan.
Importantly, a paid Taco subscription is not required to use the remote's basic connection, button mapping, and control features through Taco Hub.
Conclusion
TACO AI brings together voice dictation, intelligent writing assistance, and handheld computer navigation in a single compact device.
For people who regularly write emails, work with documents, communicate across languages, or interact with AI tools, it offers a practical way to make speaking part of their workflow.
Its appeal isn't simply that it converts speech into text. It's the way it connects writing, navigation, and computer commands, helping users move between tasks with fewer changes in input method.
With customizable controls, multi-device support, and flexible software features, TACO AI introduces a different relationship between your voice and your digital workspace.
Sometimes, getting more done starts with something as simple as saying what you mean.
