Why it matters

Filtered water from a pitcher, hot water from a kettle, cold water and ice from the fridge: the everyday kitchen routine around water tends to involve several separate appliances. Aquis is pitched as a way to consolidate them. The maker describes it as a countertop unit with filtration, cooling, heating and ice-making built in, intended to free up counter space and cut down on preparation.

Two-stage filtration with UV sterilization

According to the maker, water passes through a dual filter system. A PAC cotton-carbon composite filter first targets visible particles, turbidity, residual chlorine and off-flavors, followed by an RO (reverse osmosis) membrane intended to remove finer impurities such as heavy metal ions, bacteria and pesticide residues. The stated replacement cycles are 6–12 months for the PAC filter and 12–24 months for the RO filter. A built-in UV sterilization function is said to suppress bacteria in the machine's internal water path.

Five outputs at the touch of a button

  • Room-temperature filtered water
  • Cold water
  • Warm water
  • Boiling water for coffee and tea
  • Ice

The maker says a one-touch interface selects the output, and an instant-heating function dispenses boiling water on demand so only the amount needed is heated, which the campaign frames as an energy saving. Ice is made from the same filtered water.

Design and maintenance

Aquis has a net weight of about 13.8kg and a packaged weight of about 15kg. The water tank and drip tray are removable for cleaning, and the maker says the portable tank lets the unit be used away from a tap, positioning it for offices and shared workspaces as well as home kitchens. The control panel uses large, clearly labeled buttons, alerts users when filters are due for replacement, and filter changes are described as tool-free. The maker also states that water-contact parts use food-safe materials and that sealing has been tested to minimize leak risk.
