FURVUE X2

FURVUE X2

A harness-mounted POV camera built around how dogs actually run, jump and shake, not around a human action cam.

Why it matters

Strapping a human action camera to a dog is one way to see the world from knee height. FURVUE X2 takes a different route: according to the maker, the design starts from the dog's body and its unpredictable movement (sprints, sudden stops, sharp turns, full-body shakes) and works back to the camera. The idea is to let the dog move freely and capture that natural time, rather than slowing the dog down for the sake of the footage.

Optics and image stabilization

The maker specifies a 160° ultra-wide lens paired with a 5MP sensor, recording at 2.7K/30fps. Stabilization works in two stages: electronic image stabilization runs on the camera during recording, and the FURVUE app applies cloud-based AI stabilization that, the maker says, continuously processes both recorded footage and the live view to smooth out running, jumping and sudden direction changes.

Harness-integrated mounting

Instead of clipping onto a collar, the camera is built into a dedicated pet harness. The maker says this spreads weight rather than concentrating it at one point, lets the camera move with the dog's body, and uses a reinforced locking base to stay stable during vigorous movement. The camera angle adjusts ±45° up and down to suit a dog's build and posture, which should help avoid footage that shows only the ground. The harness comes in multiple sizes for different breeds and body types and works with standard leashes.

Key specifications, per the maker

  • 2.7K/30fps video, 160° ultra-wide lens, 5MP sensor
  • Two-stage stabilization: on-camera EIS plus cloud-based AI stabilization in the app
  • Real-time preview via the FURVUE app at up to 20m
  • Local recording continues if Wi-Fi drops, with automatic sync after reconnection
  • IP67 water and dust resistance
  • 900mAh battery for up to 90 minutes of continuous recording; optional charging module extends this to 4–5 hours and fits in a harness pocket
  • Low-power design with a metal heat-dissipation system
  • ±45° vertical angle adjustment

Taken together, the features point at one goal the maker states plainly: recording the time a dog spends moving naturally, from the dog's own point of view. FURVUE X2 is presented as a Kickstarter project.
