Atomstack Glacier
A water-cooled 120W diode laser engraver with a 4W IR module, built for long, unbroken runs
Editor’s view
Why it matters
Diode laser engravers tend to lose power as they heat up, and air cooling only goes so far. Atomstack's answer with Glacier is liquid cooling: according to the maker, the system holds the laser module at 30℃, allowing 24-hour continuous operation without output drop and five times the lifespan of air-cooled machines.
Two lasers, one cooling loop
The headline figure is 120W of actual output. Atomstack says it can cut 40mm solid wood or 30mm acrylic in a single pass, with second-generation COS packaging compressing the beam to a 0.15×0.15mm spot. Output runs at 100W in standard mode, with a turbo mode raising it to 120W for thicker stock.
Alongside it sits a 4W IR laser module at 1064nm, which the maker describes as the first water-cooled IR module. With a 0.04×0.04mm spot, it is claimed to engrave deeply into more than 300 materials, including metal marking and fine stone work, operate between -10℃ and 40℃, and last 100,000 hours.
Workspace, control and safety
- 800×800mm working area, sized for full MDF sheets and composite panels without splitting jobs
- Power-loss recovery that resumes from the point of interruption
- Built-in touchscreen for offline jobs without a PC
- 4-in-1 real-time monitoring of temperature, water level, flow and faults, with a safety stop in 0.1 seconds
- Optional fully enclosed B4 enclosure for capturing smoke and fumes, with 360-degree visibility
- Atomstack Studio on PC and a smartphone app, plus compatibility with LightBurn and LaserGRBL
- Multi-machine control: one PC can run several Glacier units on the same or different jobs
Taken together, Atomstack positions Glacier as both a hobbyist tool and light production equipment, with the cooling system as the feature that makes the rest of the specification sheet credible over long sessions.
