HULA

Most consumer drones pick a lane: aerial camera, racing toy or classroom kit. HULA, presented as a Kickstarter project, tries to cover all three. According to the maker, it is an all-in-one drone intended for players of all ages, from children to adults, with features spanning games, group shows, programming and video capture.

Play, together

The headline feature is a battle mode in which several HULA units can face off in air combat against one another. The maker also describes a drone light show function, where HULA puts on a display with light, positioned for use at home or at events. Separately, a smartphone app lets users fly the drone in a game-like way for more interactive control.

Learn by coding

On the education side, HULA offers graphical programming through a dedicated app, which the maker pitches as an accessible way into coding and a fit for children's STEM learning. It also carries AI object recognition that, according to the maker, can automatically track a target or move in response to instructions, framing the drone as a platform for both programming and AI study.

Camera and gimbal

For footage, the maker specifies a 1080p camera paired with a 120° adjustable gimbal, allowing the shooting angle to be changed for video and photo projects.
