Handwriting is fast and flexible, but what happens after the page is full is another matter: notes go unread, context fades, and loose sheets disappear. iBuzzPen, a Kickstarter project, is built around that gap. Rather than replacing paper, it aims to make handwritten notes usable later.

Capturing the stroke, not just the result

The maker says a camera in the pen body records handwriting in real time, including the trajectory of the pen tip rather than only the finished characters. The idea is that there is no separate digitizing step: no retyping, no photographing pages. Diagrams, circled keywords, arrows and margin notes are preserved in the form they were written.

From notes to next actions

According to the maker, handwritten content can be combined with audio and images, and AI features help organize the material, summarize discussion points and clarify tasks. The pitch for meetings and lectures is that you can jot what matters in the moment and sort it out afterward. The maker also describes an analysis feature that uses writing pressure and rhythm to help users look back on their state while writing, such as when they were most focused.
