Kombi Cool Tap

Cold draft beer is easy to find at a bar and much harder at a campsite or on a beach with no outlet in sight. Kombi Cool Tap is built around that problem: according to the maker, it chills and dispenses from a keg without any power, and cleanup amounts to removing the keg and washing it.

How it works

The maker describes a setup that needs no special skills, only the strength to lift a keg. You load a keg, screw on a D-type coupler, set the CO2 regulator, add ice, close the lid and pull the tap. The campaign pitches the result as a way to serve draft beer or cocktails much like a bartender would.

Since it runs without power, the maker positions it as something you can move by car or carry on foot, for backyard barbecues, beach parties and campsites. The company contrasts this with conventional outdoor kegerators, which it says typically need power and are hard to move. It also suggests booking popular beers 3 to 7 days ahead around holiday weekends, and checking a keg's shelf life and any return discounts.

Beyond beer

With a refillable 2.5-gallon keg, the maker says you can batch cocktails, kombucha, wine or cold brew and serve them from the ice-chilled tap, from margaritas at a summer party to cold brew in the morning. The company also points to potential uses at stalls, events and outdoor festivals.

Kombi Beverage Systems says its team, including Kyle McGetrick and Paul Crawford, brings together entrepreneurs, designers, and marketing, operations and finance specialists. The campaign acknowledges the usual risks of a new hardware launch, including possible delays in manufacturing, parts sourcing and shipping, and says it is working with experienced suppliers and fulfillment partners and has committed to transparent communication if problems arise.
