Why it matters
Projectors usually trade black depth for brightness. With the TITAN Noir Series, XGIMI says it is chasing both, and its answer is optical rather than digital. According to the maker, two independent optical iris modules work together to control light output scene by scene, reaching a native contrast ratio of 10,000:1 without relying on digital dimming or software correction. Five manual adjustment steps let viewers tune the iris to content and room lighting.
XGIMI's Dual IrisSync™ system is said to synchronise iris movement, RGB laser timing and DMD chip switching at millisecond level, so colour stays consistent across brightness levels. On the processing side, the X-Vision image chip runs an AI-based Dynamic Black Enhancement (DBLE) feature that the maker says refines black levels and corrects colour casts in dark scenes in real time.
Light, colour and optics
The RGB triple-laser light source is rated by XGIMI at 110% BT.2020, with colour accuracy of AE<0.8 across DCI-P3, Rec.709 and Adobe RGB. A next-generation Texas Instruments SST DMD chip, which the maker claims offers roughly 3x the optical power density, 2x the heat dissipation efficiency and 7x the durability of earlier TRP DMD chips, supports a peak of 7000 ISO lumens, dropping automatically to 2000 ISO lumens in dark scenes to favour contrast. Anti-RBE technology is designed to suppress rainbow artefacts in both 2D and 3D modes.
The X-Master Red Ring Lens Optics use 15 elements with 14-layer vacuum coating and a stated 99.6% light transmittance. XGIMI lists a 0.98–2.0:1 throw ratio, lens shift of ±130% vertical and ±50% horizontal, and lens memory for up to five positions, allowing switching between 16:9 and 2.35:1 framing.
Gaming, sound and connectivity
- Up to 240Hz at 1080p and 1ms input lag, per the maker
- AMD FreeSync Premium, VRR and ALLM support
- Full HD 3D playback
- harman/kardon stereo speakers (2×12W) with DTS Virtual:X
