Advertising & Refund Policy

What you buy

A placement is one sponsored product feature (image, headline, short Japanese introduction and your approved link) within a shared issue of Modern-G's Japanese newsletter, sent to subscribers who opted in. It is not a dedicated email. Only the Japanese newsletter is offered.

Single = 1 placement ($99). Growth = 3 placements in separate issues ($199). Annual = 12 placements, one a month for 12 months from the month of payment ($499). One-time prices in USD.

First-time offer: one placement for $49 instead of $99, for a brand's first purchase only, once per brand, and only after you've confirmed you represent the brand. Eligibility is decided by Modern-G.

Annual plan

Prepaid once; it does not renew automatically. At most one placement per calendar month; a month's placement cannot be saved up or used later. If we can't deliver a month's placement for reasons on our side, you receive a make-good placement or another appropriate remedy; the credit is never used up silently.

Approval

Every advertised product and its link need editorial approval and link checks. Buying advertising does not buy an editorial article, and free submission never requires payment.

Labelling

Sponsored placements are always labelled “PR｜広告 (Sponsored)”, in line with Japanese rules on undisclosed advertising.

Scheduling

You may request dates. Availability and editorial approval decide the final schedule; your advertiser account shows booked and completed placements.

No guaranteed results

We don't guarantee a number of recipients, deliveries, opens, clicks, sales or media coverage. After each issue we share Mailchimp-verified sends and the clicks on your placement's unique link.

Refunds

Not approved: full refund. If we cannot deliver remaining placements, we will reschedule them with your agreement or refund the undelivered portion pro rata. Placements already sent are not refundable. Refunds go to the original payment method.
