Why it matters
Most screwdrivers force your wrist to adapt to the fastener. FixBuddy Ratchet tries to reverse that. According to the maker, its ratchet head rotates through 180° and can be set by hand, then locks in place so it won't shift mid-task, letting you reach screws at the back of a cabinet or in a narrow gap in a machine without contorting your wrist.
Angle, torque and the ratchet
The maker says the angle adjustment is shaped around natural hand movement, aiming to reduce awkward wrist positions when working overhead, such as fitting a ceiling light, or crouched near the floor. The handle is made from high-strength aluminum alloy, which the maker says keeps the tool rigid and delivers consistent torque at whatever angle the head is locked, helping avoid over- or under-tightening during delicate electronics work.
The ratchet mechanism drives in one direction and freewheels on the return stroke without the bit leaving the fastener, so there is no need to lift and reposition the tool after every turn. A strong magnet holds bits in place, which the maker says reduces the chance of dropping one into equipment and limits slipping that could damage screw heads.
Compact, manual, compatible
The tool is sized for a pocket or small tool bag and needs no batteries or charging cable. It works with standard removable hex bits, and the maker says it also accepts precision bits, hex keys and other common attachments, with hundreds of compatible bits from major brands and further options via standard adapters. Key components are CNC machined to tight tolerances, then assembled and finished by skilled technicians, reflecting the team's stated goal of a tool that holds its value over years of use.
What comes in the kit
