FOSSiBOT F116 Pro
A 4.0-inch rugged 5G phone with action-camera features, a 48MP wide camera and a 1/4-inch mount
Editor’s view
Why it matters
Outdoor filming usually means carrying two devices: an action camera for footage and a phone for everything else. FOSSiBOT's pitch for the F116 Pro is to combine them in a 4.0-inch body that, according to the maker, pairs rugged-phone durability with action-camera shooting and 5G connectivity.
Built to take a beating
The maker says the F116 Pro meets MIL-STD-810H as well as IP68 and IP69K. FOSSiBOT states it can keep working after a drop of around 1.5 meters onto rock and stay water-resistant after 30 minutes at a depth of 1.5 meters. The IP69K rating, the campaign adds, means the phone can be cleaned with a pressure washer after a muddy hike.
Camera first
Imaging centers on a 48MP wide-angle camera with what FOSSiBOT calls gimbal stabilization, which the maker says reduces shake while walking, cycling or running. A dedicated side button launches the camera with a long press even when the screen is locked, and sliding the same button zooms in and out, so it can be used with gloves or wet hands, according to the campaign. A 1/4-inch universal screw mount on the bottom lets the phone attach to tripods, bike, helmet, neck and car mounts.
Key specifications (per the maker)
- 4.0-inch display
- Dimensity 7300 chipset with 5G support
- 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, expandable up to 1TB via microSD
- Android 16 with Google Play
- NFC for contactless payments such as Google Pay
- Multicolor LED "light signal tower" for notifications and emergency lighting
- 3700mAh battery with 33W fast charging; the maker cites roughly 10% to over 60% in about 30 minutes
- Power-saving mode
FOSSiBOT claims the battery lasts more than a day in everyday use, and from half a day to a full day when shooting and communicating outdoors. The phone is aimed at outdoor enthusiasts, travelers, parents and content creators who want one pocketable device instead of separate rugged phone and camera.
