Loopzizo K-100

A desktop SLS 3D printer that aims to bring support-free, nylon-strength parts out of the factory

Editor’s view

Why it matters

Selective laser sintering builds objects by fusing fine powder layer by layer with a laser. It has traditionally meant large machines, significant investment and trained operators. Loopzizo's pitch with the K-100 is to shrink that process to desktop size and wrap it in a workflow that, the maker says, beginners can handle.

The appeal over FDM and resin printers is geometry. Because unsintered powder surrounds the part during the build, it acts as natural support, so the K-100 needs no support structures for complex internal features or overhangs. Loopzizo positions this as opening up lightweight engineering parts and functional prototypes that are awkward to produce on filament or resin machines.

Claimed performance and materials

  • 5W 450nm laser
  • Tensile strength of 50MPa
  • Heat resistance up to 120℃
  • Build accuracy of 0.1mm (100μm)
  • PA12 (nylon 12) and TPU supported out of the box, with optional switching to PA11 composite
  • Accepts STL, 3MF and OBJ files; Wi-Fi job start
  • Turnaround described as "27 minutes from model to part"

According to the maker, onboard software analyzes each uploaded model and sets parameters automatically, then handles preheating, sintering and cooling. The software also covers part placement, time and material estimates, and packing-density optimization intended for batches of hundreds of end-use parts. Loopzizo describes the build volume as "industry-leading" but the source gives no dimensions.

Modular, enclosed, recyclable

The machine is built from modules, including the powder module, laser assembly, filter cartridge and motor unit, each removable and replaceable on its own. The system is fully enclosed, and the maker states that its PA12 and TPU powders are non-toxic, positioning the printer for studios, offices and home workshops. Unsintered powder can be reused, collected either automatically or manually.

Loopzizo also offers the Loopzizo H1, a companion post-processing station that combines depowdering, powder recovery, storage and reuse in one unit.
