Orioners S1

Orioners describes the S1 as a keychain multitool meant for the small, unplanned tasks of daily life: opening packages, cutting paper, tightening a loose eyeglass screw, finding keys in the dark. Named with a nod to the constellation Orion, the Kickstarter project measures 6.3cm and weighs 28g, according to the maker.

Blade and handle

The Damascus Edition uses a blade forged from 67 layers of steel, which the maker says balances hardness and toughness for chip resistance and edge retention. Each blade carries its own flowing pattern from the forging process. A Stainless Steel Edition uses 420 stainless steel, which Orioners positions as a corrosion-resistant, more practical option.

Both editions share a handle combining aircraft-grade aluminum alloy with luminous carbon fiber. According to the maker, about 10 minutes of sunlight or indoor light charges the material, which then gives off a soft bluish-white glow for 4 to 6 hours in the dark, making the tool easier to spot on a keyring or orient at night.

Mechanism and carry
