SOUSIC S02

Ultrasonic cutters slice by vibrating the blade rather than relying on hand pressure, and SOUSIC S02 builds its case on that principle. According to the maker, the tool delivers 45W of ultrasonic output at a 40kHz vibration frequency, enough to cut ABS and PLA up to 8mm thick and wood up to 5mm thick. The maker also claims smooth cut edges with little burring, reducing the need for sanding afterward.

Auto-tuning at the core

The headline feature is what the maker calls a real-time auto-tuning system. It is said to track the optimal resonance point during cutting, adjusting vibration to within ±17Hz with a 45ms response time. The goal, per the maker, is to keep the blade stable as material density, load or temperature changes, which matters when trimming unevenly dense 3D print supports without nicking the part itself.

One tool, several stages

Rather than cutting alone, SOUSIC S02 is positioned as a workflow tool. It ships with seven blades and a polishing head, which the maker says cover rough cutting, fine trimming, curved cuts and deburring. Spare blades sit in a magnetic storage compartment inside the front cap, revealed by sliding the cap and confirmed with an audible click when a blade is seated.
