Titaner Ti Folding Knife

A GR5 titanium utility knife with a dual-lock mechanism and tool-free blade changes in 0.5 seconds

Editor’s view

Why it matters

The Titaner Ti Folding Knife is pitched as a long-term companion rather than a disposable tool. According to the campaign, every design decision and material choice serves one goal: sustained performance and reliability. The team goes as far as promising the knife can handle cutting jobs for the next 100 years.

Two locks, one click

The headline feature is a dual-locking mechanism that Titaner describes as a world first, intended to prevent accidental opening. The maker says the lock holds against 5kg of force. A light press releases the first lock; pressing a round button swings the blade open to 175° and engages the second lock with an audible click, so the user can confirm lock-up by feel and sound even without looking.

Around the blade holder sits what the maker calls a Mecha Armor structure, a protective shell with a cushioned spine for pressure distribution and a reinforced frame meant to keep the blade from wobbling or deforming during cuts. The ergonomic handle carries a deep anti-slip texture designed for wet or oily conditions and extended use.

Materials and details

  • GR5 titanium alloy body, described as strong, light and naturally rust-resistant against sweat, rain and seawater
  • Tool-free blade replacement in 0.5 seconds, according to the maker
  • Blade suspension chamber design that keeps the closed blade from touching the handle to preserve sharpness
  • Adjustable pivot screw: loosen for smoother action, tighten for firmer control
  • Pocket clip with embedded, replaceable ceramic rolling beads to reduce fabric wear, with optional gemstone beads
  • Faint glow function in the handle, plus an optional tritium tube said to provide 20 years of self-illumination
  • Two finishes: Sandblasted Titanium and Deep Obsidian Black, the latter produced through an oxidation process for added wear and corrosion resistance

Titaner frames the knife as something to hand down: a counterpoint to cheap, breakable tools, with a titanium handle the maker says develops a personal patina over years of use.
