Tacray MT1

Tacray says it has spent 13 years developing EDC products, and that recurring feedback shaped the MT1: multitools were too heavy, half their functions went unused, and they lacked a light. The brand's answer was to strip the concept back to functions people actually reach for daily, engineer them for one-handed use, and build a flashlight directly into the body.

Two body materials

According to the maker, the MT1 comes in aircraft-grade titanium with a sandblasted grey finish, or 6061-T6 aluminium anodised in grey or desert tan. Both versions are CNC machined, and Tacray says they are assembled to tight tolerances to minimise play over long-term use.

The integrated flashlight

The light uses a 6000K LED with a focusing reflector, rated by the maker at up to 260 lumens. A 250mAh battery is said to deliver about 2 hours of continuous use in low mode, and charging via USB-C takes roughly 1 hour. The idea is simple: no more juggling a phone torch while working with the tool in the dark.

Blade and tools

The tanto-profile blade is aimed at everyday cutting such as opening parcels and envelopes. Steel varies by model: the top Elite version uses M390, while the Pro and Base versions use stonewashed 10Cr15MoV stainless steel. The maker cites ceramic bearings for smooth one-handed deployment and a liner lock to hold the blade open.

Tacray describes the overall footprint as smaller than a deck of cards, positioning the MT1 for pocket carry without noticeable bulk.
