Why it matters

ZENLET, a Taiwan-based team spanning design, engineering, marketing and visual communication, works under what it calls a "ZEN" philosophy of simplicity, balance and clarity. The Dual plus is its follow-up to The Dual, a 2023 product combining a magnetic lanyard with an ID holder that, according to the maker, was used by more than 5,000 people worldwide.

The maker says feedback on that first model shaped the new one: long lanyards swing and can invite theft, short ones strain the neck over a full day, and an ID holder alone can't carry everything people actually take out. ZENLET says it drew on surveys and ideas from more than 10,000 users and went through repeated sketches and prototypes.

One snap, two lengths

The phone attaches with a single click via a German Fidlock™ magnetic fastener and releases when pulled at the right angle. According to the maker, the clasp keeps the phone secure while cycling, riding a scooter or running, and its magnets do not affect the phone's electronics.

The lanyard switches between two modes. "Combat mode" shortens it to 31.5 – 44.8 inches (80 – 114 cm), holding the phone close to the chest to cut bounce and keep it in view in crowds, on commutes or while riding. "Relax mode" extends it to 43.3 – 56.7 inches (110 – 144 cm) for payments, ticket scans and photos, and, the maker says, eases neck strain over a long day.

The EDC pouch

  • Flexible construction the maker says expands to up to twice its capacity
  • An inconspicuous divider for cash, backup cards or an emergency ID
  • An upside-down hidden rear pocket opened by flipping the pouch and unzipping
  • A roll-top closure plus a discreet magnetic closure in place of buttons
  • External loops for items such as AirPods, hand sanitizer or tracking tags
  • Water-resistant material intended to cope with rain, splashes and spilled coffee

The set consists of a Fidlock adapter, the quick-switch lanyard and the pouch; a phone case is sold separately. The adapter sits at the bottom of the case, threaded through the charging opening and secured with a magnetic piece, which the maker says makes it compatible with almost any smartphone without interfering with charging. ZENLET recommends full-coverage cases rather than bumpers, with a charging-hole opening of 0.47 – 0.78 inches (1.2 – 2 cm). The maker states it has completed material testing and finalized the design, while acknowledging that supply-chain disruptions or production delays remain possible.
