Ti SLIDEX

Four GR5 titanium cards that slide into a 14-function EDC tool and fold into a grippable triangular prism

Editor’s view

Why it matters

Most card multitools force a trade-off: flat enough to carry, but awkward to actually use. Ti SLIDEX tries to resolve that with a shape-shifting design. Laid flat, the maker says the four-card unit measures just 0.4cm (0.16 inches) thick, slim enough to slip into a wallet or bag pocket. Folded, the cards form a triangular prism that the maker says sits naturally in the palm, giving better leverage on a spanner, more control over a blade and less wobble when driving small screws.

Screwdriver version

The Screwdriver version centers on eight solid steel bits: T5/T6 Torx, H3/H5 hex, SL2/SL4 flathead and PH0/PH00 Phillips. According to the maker, a high-strength magnetic base holds the bits securely while keeping the tool maneuverable in tight spaces, and the driver slot itself is magnetized to keep small screws attached. Bit changes are described as one-touch. This version also adds a folding knife with a serrated section near the handle that the maker says can cut Kevlar cord and composite materials, a bottle opener, a laser-engraved ruler and a built-in pen stored within the card.

Standard version

The Standard version is the lighter option, listed at 1.30oz (about 37g), and is aimed at small everyday tasks rather than repair work. Its toolset includes:

  • Spanner, for loose bolts or flat-pack furniture nuts
  • SIM tool with a fine, hard tip
  • File for deburring metal or tidying plastic edges
  • Rope cutter
  • Screw bits in commonly used sizes (fewer than the Screwdriver version)
  • Window breaker for emergencies
  • Hook for removing stones lodged in shoe soles

Materials

Both versions use GR5 titanium alloy, which the maker highlights for strength, low weight and corrosion resistance. An aluminum alloy version is also offered, made from 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum with hard anodizing that the maker says reaches a surface hardness of HV300-500, positioned as lighter than the titanium model. The knife blades are Ultra-Premium M390 powder-metallurgy steel, chosen according to the maker for edge retention, sharpness and resistance to breakage. The ruler is laser-engraved directly into the metal, with both centimeter and inch markings, and every function is said to work in either the flat or folded configuration.
