Titaner Razorbill
A titanium-handled EDC knife shaped by 3D CNC machining, with an M390 or 14C28N multi-zone Tanto blade
Editor’s view
Why it matters
Small cutting jobs tend to expose the weaknesses of small tools: a tip that snags on cardboard, rope that takes more effort than it should, a handle that never quite settles in the hand. Titaner built the Razorbill as an answer to those everyday frictions, combining a titanium handle, a performance steel blade and sculpted 3D CNC geometry in one EDC (everyday carry) package.
Geometry you can feel
The Razorbill's defining trait is its three-dimensional, multi-axis CNC machining, which carries complex faceted surfaces from blade to handle. According to the maker, those geometric planes are meant to give the hand clear cues about finger placement, cutting angle and where the tip is pointing, so the knife guides into a line rather than being forced through it.
Blade steel and shape
The listing names M390 and 14C28N as blade steels. Titaner's official information states that the M390 blade, from Austrian steelmaker Böhler, receives a cryogenic treatment and reaches 60–62HRC, a hardness that typically supports longer edge retention. The campaign sums up the goal as "Sharpen less. Cut longer." The blade uses what Titaner calls a multi-zone Tanto cut, so the tip, straight section and angle changes can handle different tasks, from scoring tape to straight runs along a box edge to cutting thicker material.
Handle and lock
- Grade 5 titanium handle with a micro-blasted finish
- Matrix-pattern lightening structure to reduce weight
- Forward-biased balance to direct force toward the tip
- Frame lock securing the deployed blade
- Described by the maker as having no vertical play or wobble, with deployment that is "crisp, smooth, and absolute"
Visually, the Razorbill leans mechanical rather than flashy: faceted surfaces, a muted titanium texture and the taut lines of a Tanto blade. Rather than leaning on colourways, it lets the materials carry the design, aiming to sit comfortably alongside outdoor gear, gadgets or a minimal everyday bag.
