Why it matters

Yarbo's earlier Y Series was built for large properties. The company says homeowners then asked for a Yarbo sized to their own homes, and the M series is its answer: optimized for small to mid-sized lawns and everyday use, lighter, faster and simpler to set up, with AI-assisted mapping. Yarbo frames the project around ten years of real-yard testing, shipping and bug fixing, and notes that it raised US$3.5 million on Kickstarter in 2022. Yarbo M is presented as a Kickstarter project.

One core, four modules

The central idea is modularity. One core unit accepts four swappable modules, and the maker pitches this as a way to change functions with the seasons without filling a garage with separate machines. Module changes are described as one-touch.

  • Mowing: dual 300W direct-drive cutting motors with no belts or gears, which the maker says reduces clogging in dense grass; cutting height adjustable from 1.2 to 4 inches; dual straight blades for striping.
  • Snow clearing: a 25.6-inch angle-adjustable blade with ±25° steering for edges and corners; the maker says it starts working as snow begins to accumulate. According to Yarbo, three homeowners tested it in real snowfall in early 2026.
  • Debris collection: picks up leaves, grass clippings and other loose debris, empties at set points and resumes; more than 50 drop-off points can be configured.
  • Trimming: adaptive angle adjustment for edges and corners, trim height adjustable from 2 to 4 inches, and automatic line feed.

Yarbo M combines wireless LiDAR navigation with a fusion navigation system. The maker claims it can handle 35° slopes and icy driveways, terrain where it says typical robots get stuck. AI-assisted mapping recognizes the yard during setup and plans routes, and coverage is quoted at up to 1.5 acres. The robot also supports Yarbo's global NetRTK network, which corrects satellite positioning errors over the network; according to the campaign, Kickstarter backers receive the NetRTK subscription free, and a coverage map is offered on the official site.

Electric, quiet, updatable

The machine is fully electric, so the maker emphasizes no exhaust and low noise suitable for early-morning or evening use. Yarbo promises ongoing OTA updates and says it runs a product demo program of more than 100 homeowners to collect real-world feedback.
