ZONE Timer

New Things Lab B.V., a design studio based in the Netherlands, has built its catalogue on everyday objects that balance form and function, including the MEMO Whiteboard Wallet. ZONE Timer applies that approach to time management: a compact cube with a time block assigned to each of its four sides.

Four sides, four blocks

According to the maker, the sides come preset to 5, 10, 25 and 60 minutes, and each can be customized to suit the user's own rhythm. Turning the timer starts the countdown, a gentle chime marks the switch between tasks, and the display shows minutes only, an intentional choice the maker says keeps attention away from ticking seconds and clock markings.

• Size: 5x5x5cm
• Battery: 1000mAh, rated by the maker for at least 2 days of intensive use
• Charging: USB-C
• Volume: 7 levels, plus a vibration mode for meeting rooms or libraries
• Display: 600-nit LED
• Build: soft silicone shell, glass front, dedicated PCB
• Colors: Midnight Focus (deep blue), Daylight Clarity (milk white), Blue Flow (blue-green)

The maker frames the three colorways as moods: Midnight Focus for deep concentration, Daylight Clarity for crisp productivity and Blue Flow for smooth workflow. A dedicated circuit board is said to keep the timer responsive and reliable.

The Focus Bundle

An optional Focus Bundle pairs the timer with a CNC-machined bamboo base that holds four glass whiteboards for daily plans and to-do lists. The included pen is compatible with the MEMO system, so it works alongside the MEMO Whiteboard Wallet.

ZONE Timer is a Kickstarter project and, according to the source, received a 2025 iF Design Award. The maker also highlights sustainability: a durable design intended for long use, renewable materials such as silicone and carbonized bamboo, and paper-only packaging.
