ABC Boardgame Backpack 2.0

Getting a game collection to a friend's place, a café or a convention is a familiar problem: boxes are bulky and ordinary bags rarely fit them. PLEI DESIGN's ABC Boardgame Backpack 2.0 is aimed squarely at that problem. According to the source, its Kickstarter campaign raised well beyond its funding goal.

Built around the box

The maker positions storage as the headline feature. The backpack is designed to hold multiple game boxes efficiently, and large-format titles such as Terraforming Mars and Gloomhaven are said to fit inside. Additional pockets and dividers are intended to keep smaller games and accessories organized, and the internal dividers are movable, so the layout can be reconfigured to suit whatever games are being carried.

Durability and carry comfort

• Water-resistant material described as high quality, intended to cope with rain or spilled drinks
• A reinforced base meant to keep its shape under heavy games
• Cushioned shoulder straps and back padding for longer carries
• Weight distribution designed to avoid an awkward, unbalanced load

Beyond game night

Visually, the backpack takes a minimal approach without excess decoration, which the source suggests suits settings from casual to business casual. That fits a broader idea behind the product: a game bag that can also serve as a daily bag, particularly for city-based players.

The source also speculates that PLEI DESIGN could follow up with refined versions or variants, such as a more compact model or bags tailored to specific games, though nothing of the kind has been announced in the material provided.
