Why it matters

The premise behind Cinomadist Motion is familiar to anyone who splits time between an office and an airport: one bag for the commute, another for travel, and a lot of unzipping in between. According to the maker, Motion is meant to replace both with a single 28L pack.

Three core systems

Centerline Access is the headline feature. A zipper runs vertically down the middle of the bag, so with the pack swung to the front, the main compartment opens at its center without laying the whole bag flat like a suitcase. The maker pitches this for pulling out documents on a train, a laptop in a café or a passport at security.

Motion Layout divides the interior by purpose: a main compartment for clothing and documents, a padded Tech Protection Zone for a laptop or tablet, and quick-access pockets for cables, earphones and card holders. The maker says the padding keeps a laptop from shifting around among clothes and cables.

Motion Grid refers to the webbing, loops and buckles on the front, which the maker describes as a modular utility system for attaching accessories or expanding capacity when traveling. Side buckles compress the load when the bag isn't full and loosen to make room for more, and a dedicated sunglasses loop sits on the shoulder strap.

Travel details and materials

  • Concealed side bottle pocket that zips open when needed, with an elastic inner structure
  • Hidden side pocket for wallet, passport and travel documents
  • Shoulder straps that tuck into a rear panel for hand-carry use
  • Luggage pass-through at the lower back for rolling suitcase handles
  • 1260D water-resistant nylon shell, with added rain and splash protection on the front
  • Ventilated back panel and load-distributing shoulder straps
  • Laptop compatibility up to 17 inches, according to the maker
  • Included travel toiletry kit

The maker also says it has paid attention to zipper glide, buckle strength and stitch density, positioning Motion as a bag intended for long-term use rather than a seasonal design.
