DSPIXELKEY
A Hall Effect keyboard with a 14-inch IPS display beneath clear keys and a programmable ultrawide strip above
Editor’s view
Why it matters
Most keyboards stop at input. DSPIXELKEY is built around a different premise: according to the maker, it is designed from the start as a desktop control space, aimed at the small interruptions of switching windows to check system stats, change a track or open an AI tool in a browser.
Two screens at your fingertips
The maker says a 14-inch IPS display sits behind transparent keys, while a 301×55mm ultrawide programmable display runs above them. That strip is pitched as more than a clock or battery readout: the campaign lists stock tracking, music controls, weather, system monitoring, calendars and reminders, an AI assistant, game information, a creative canvas and desktop shortcuts. Via HDMI input, holding a touch button for 2 seconds switches the keyboard into an extended-display mode, letting it act as a second screen at up to 1080p and 60Hz. Laptops, desktop PCs, game consoles and Nintendo Switch are given as example sources.
Magnetic switches, tuned per key
Input uses Hall Effect magnetic switches, which detect key movement through changes in magnetism. The maker says sensitivity and actuation point can be adjusted for each key individually, a feature it positions for competitive games such as FPS titles. The switches are hot-swappable without soldering. Two options are offered: a standard V1 magnetic switch and a smaller V2 Mini magnetic switch, which the maker says passes more light to let the display and RGB lighting show through. Clear keycaps and adjustable RGB lighting complete the see-through look.
