Why it matters

ScorpTokyo ICHI is less a chair than a full gaming cockpit. Its design takes cues from the manticore, the legendary creature, and the maker positions it as a seat built around immersion, with a black finish intended to fit into most gaming setups.

Powered adjustment and lighting

According to the maker, the backrest and seat height are adjusted electrically via buttons at hand, while the armrests and footrest can be repositioned manually. The keyboard position can also be changed to suit the user's build. Built-in LED lighting changes color by remote control; the maker suggests cooler tones for relaxing and warmer tones for more intense play. A drink holder is integrated into the armrest.

The seat uses microfiber leather, which the maker describes as offering a balance of firmness and softness and as designed to reduce fatigue during long sessions. The maker also pitches the electric recline for extended PC work, not just gaming.

Monitor configurations

The rig supports either a single monitor up to 49 inches or three to five monitors of 29 inches or smaller. No PC or monitors are included. The chair ships with two 5m HDMI cables and one 5m DisplayPort cable already installed; for a five-monitor setup, the maker says two additional 5m cables (HDMI or DisplayPort) must be specified when ordering.

  • Input voltage: 100V
  • Opening angle: seat approx. 75 degrees; monitor arm approx. 80–120 degrees
  • Backrest: approx. 80–140 degrees
  • Weight: approx. 260kg total (220kg for the chair alone)
  • Crate dimensions: 165cm deep, 64cm wide, 134cm high
  • Included: chair, two HDMI cables (5m), one DisplayPort cable (5m), simple installation tools

The size has practical consequences. The chair is made to order and ships in a wooden crate, and the maker advises checking door, elevator and hallway dimensions in advance, as delivery is to the entrance and setup inside the home is left to the owner. The maker notes that specifications and accessories may change without notice.
