GenePro G1

MILESEEY, founded in 2009, describes itself as a laser-measurement specialist and says it serves 10 million users in more than 50 countries. GenePro G1 is its dedicated golf device, built around a hybrid system: GPS locates the player on the course, while the laser measures precise distances to the flag and other targets.

GPS meets laser

According to the maker, the unit ships with more than 43,000 golf course maps worldwide, which can be downloaded in advance and updated through the Mileseey Golf App. The laser reaches up to 1300 yards (approx. 1189 meters), viewed through 6x magnification with a 7.5° field of view. The display shows front, center and back-of-green distances simultaneously.

Two named features carry much of the pitch. Patented SmartSlope™ technology, the maker says, analyzes elevation difference, temperature and humidity to correct distances for slope. Ball-to-Pin™ mode measures between any two points on the course, such as ball to flag or a layup spot short of a water hazard, in a single operation rather than several readings.

Hardware and build

• 2.13-inch AMOLED touchscreen, plus physical buttons for use with gloves
• Battery life of 24 hours or more, charged via USB Type-C
• IP65 water and dust resistance
• Rain & Fog Mode that automatically adjusts laser signal strength
• Aluminum-based two-tone metallic finish

Through the companion app, players can review shot distances, club choices and scores to spot patterns in their game, according to the campaign. MILESEEY positions the G1 as a device for beginners learning the game as well as experienced players seeking more consistent club selection.
