Why it matters

Most enthusiast controllers push customization out to a companion app. GENKI MANTA takes the opposite approach: a 2.79-inch color IPS TFT-LCD screen (428×142) runs the maker's own MantaOS, where profiles, button mapping, input tuning, macros, connection management and apps can be handled on the controller itself.

Inputs built around sensors, not contacts

The four face buttons are analog pulse buttons that, the maker says, detect the full travel of a press, so input can register before the button bottoms out. Actuation and reset points are adjustable per button, and because there are no electrical contacts, the design is meant to reduce wear and chattering.

The sticks use TMR (tunnel magnetoresistance) sensing, which the maker positions as a way to curb stick drift. Tension can be set between roughly 30 and 80gf by twisting each stick, with no tools or part swaps, and MantaOS adds dead zone and response curve settings. The triggers use Hall effect sensors and switch between three modes: digital, rapid and analog.

Connectivity and feedback

  • Polling rate up to 8000Hz wired (USB-C), up to 1000Hz over 2.4GHz wireless, up to 125Hz over Bluetooth LE
  • Wireless range given as 10m or more for both 2.4GHz and Bluetooth
  • Cable retention mechanism for the USB-C connection
  • Modes for Switch and Switch 2
  • Magnetic levitation haptic feedback
  • 9-axis IMU with gyro, accelerometer and compass

According to press coverage cited in the source, linear magnetic motors in the grips direct vibration toward the hands and can also produce feedback perceived as sound.

Profiles, macros and a dedicated mouse mode

Up to 8 profiles can be stored, each with its own dashboard, button map and input settings. A macro timeline handles button presses, analog stick paths, trigger pressure and wait times visually. A dedicated button switches to keyboard-and-mouse mode, and pairing and connection history are managed in MantaOS. The maker also describes themes, accent colors, light ring patterns, audio, mic, haptics, charging, firmware updates and storage as configurable, and outlines plans for app extensions in MantaOS.
