GITFOS WTR01

Tangled HDMI cables, buffering over congested Wi-Fi and presentation hardware running out of battery are the problems GITFOS is targeting with the WTR01. The kit pairs a USB-C transmitter, plugged into the source device, with an HDMI receiver attached to the display. According to the maker, the two establish a connection on their own, with no app download and no Wi-Fi configuration required.

How it connects

The maker says devices that support DP Alt Mode (DisplayPort Alt Mode) can cast directly through the USB-C transmitter. For devices without it, the receiver can be used on its own with Miracast or AirPlay. Two display modes are offered: mirror mode duplicates the laptop or phone screen, while extend mode treats the display as additional workspace.

Internally, GITFOS cites 2.4G + 5G dual-band Wi-Fi to reduce interference and describes the latency as ultra-low. Output is rated at 1080P at 60 frames per second, and HDCP 1.4 support is claimed so that protected streams from services such as Netflix, YouTube, Disney+ and Amazon Prime Video can play at 1080P@60Hz.
