Why it matters

Wireless display gear tends to fail in predictable ways: congested office Wi-Fi, locked-down corporate networks, and "4K" boxes that quietly output 1080p. YUEN-LINK 4K is pitched as an answer to all three. The system pairs a transmitter (TX) that plugs into a laptop, camera or compatible phone with a receiver (RX) on the TV or projector, and the maker says mirroring begins automatically a few seconds after the transmitter is connected.

4K end to end, no router involved

The maker says the adapter handles 4K/30Hz from input to output, passing the HDMI signal to the big screen without downscaling, so fine lines in drawings, subtle colour gradations and small text survive the trip. Video and audio carried in the HDMI signal are transmitted together. Rather than riding on an existing network, the transmitter and receiver talk one-to-one over their own dedicated channel, which the campaign says keeps transmission stable indoors or outdoors, even where no Wi-Fi is available.

The link uses both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands, automatically choosing between the longer reach of 2.4GHz and the speed and interference resistance of 5GHz. The maker quotes a maximum transmission range of 30 metres, while noting that distance varies with the environment and that walls or metal obstructions can affect the signal.

Built for meeting rooms

  • One receiver can switch between up to 4 transmitters; pressing a transmitter's button brings its feed to the screen
  • Transmitter and receiver ship pre-paired, with re-pairing available when adding transmitters
  • A button on the unit instantly cuts the projected image for privacy, and a second press reconnects
  • Mirroring and extended display modes
  • An included Type-C adapter for phones and tablets with video output over Type-C (such as DisplayPort Alt Mode)

Physically, the hardware is a slim design with internal antennas, roughly the size of a pen according to the campaign, intended to sit unobtrusively behind a TV or projector and slip easily into a bag. The maker positions it for presentations, home 4K film viewing and on-site design reviews alike.
