Why it matters
Most heated blankets and space heaters assume a wall outlet. GUOER Warmth, presented as a GREEN FUNDING project from Tailbone Inc., is built around a different premise: if there is a USB port nearby, there is heat. According to the maker, the garment draws power over USB-A at 5V/2A, so a power bank, a car USB adapter or an office computer can all serve as the source. A built-in 170cm power cable is intended to leave enough slack to keep a battery in a bag or reach down to the footwell while seated.
Graphene heating and zoned layout
The heating system is based on graphene, a sheet of carbon atoms one layer thick, chosen for its thermal conductivity and even heat output. The maker claims the garment warms up in 30 seconds and that its multiple heating zones work together to limit hot spots and uneven warming.
Those zones are placed by body region. The top has three heating areas at the chest, abdomen and lower abdomen. The leg section adds four more: behind each knee and under each sole. A large front pocket on the abdomen doubles as a hand warmer, according to the campaign.
Modular by design
- Three heat settings: 60℃ (high), 50℃ (medium), 40℃ (low); the maker notes these are heating-sheet temperatures, and perceived warmth varies with clothing and conditions
- Top and leg sections detach fully, each with its own power port, for top-only, legs-only or combined use
- Front-open construction that is put on from the front and fastened at the back
- Thin, soft material the maker says retains heat without stuffiness and layers under a winter coat
- Dry-cleanable and hand-washable
- One size for heights of 160–180cm and weights of 50–85kg, with a rear adjustment cord
- Two colors: khaki and gray
The separable design is pitched as a way to heat only what needs heating, which the maker says also reduces unnecessary power draw. Battery runtime figures are not given in the source material.
