Oaketa

The space behind a sofa is usually wasted: too narrow for a cabinet, too awkward for anything else. Oaketa is designed specifically for that strip. The maker describes it as an electric lift storage unit with a depth of about 15cm, intended to give remotes, phones, books, chargers and drinks a fixed home rather than leaving them scattered across cushions and coffee tables.

Height on demand

The centerpiece is a button-operated motorized lift. According to the maker, height adjusts from about 72.5cm to 120.5cm, a travel of about 48cm, at 20mm per second. Raise it to reach what you need; lower it and, the maker says, much of the storage visually tucks behind the sofa. Rather than a single tabletop, Oaketa uses multi-tier vertical storage for books, devices, small items and decor.

Power at the couch

The campaign lists built-in charging and outlets intended to remove the need to run cables across the floor, along with several safety features. The frame is made from engineered wood, PA and ABS. It is freestanding, requiring no wall drilling or permanent mounting, so the maker suggests it can move to other spots such as an open-plan living area, bedroom or entryway.

• 5W wireless charging
• Two AC outlets, two USB-A ports and one USB-C port
• Overload protection, auto-reverse on obstacle contact, overheat protection and lift-limit protection
• Three sizes: Compact (about 120cm wide), Standard (about 160cm) and XL (about 200cm), all about 15cm deep with a minimum height of about 72.5cm

Sizing to the sofa

The maker offers a fitting guide: a single Compact for sofas 127–165cm wide, Standard for 168–203cm and XL for 206–241cm. Larger sofas can use combinations, such as two Compacts (about 240cm) for 244–267cm, Compact plus Standard (about 280cm) for 269–295cm, or two Standards (about 320cm) for 297–335cm. The unit does not need to match the sofa's width exactly, and multiple finishes are offered, according to the campaign.
