HEYfold Mini

Paper notebooks get used up and thrown away; phones need charging and unlocking before a thought can be captured. HEYfold Mini, from the team at HEYii, aims to sit between the two. According to the maker, it builds on a first-generation product backed by more than 1,700 supporters, reworked here for people who take notes on the move.

Write, wipe, repeat

The pages combine what the maker calls a Duraflexa™ silicone core with an Inkvera™ coating. HEYii says they accept water-based dry-erase pens, whiteboard markers and compatible ballpoint pens, and that ink dries instantly, so writing stays smudge-free, a point the maker highlights for left-handed users. Notes can reportedly be wiped away in seconds with a dry or damp cloth without leaving residue. The material is described as food-grade silicone that is flexible, tear-resistant and resistant to wear from repeated writing and erasing, with an anti-stain surface treatment.

Built for pockets, not desks

HEYfold Mini is the size of a smartphone, which the maker says lets it slip into a jacket's inside pocket, a phone case or a small bag. A built-in rigid backing is meant to keep it steady in the hand, so you can write standing up or in transit. Two rewritable pages fold into four panels, and the notebook opens 180 degrees flat to double the writing area for sketches or longer notes.

• Magnets in the body hold the dedicated pen in place
• Cover stores three cards, such as IC cards, business cards or credit cards
• Plain white cover intended for stickers or a handwritten name
• Inner pages offered in three layouts: blank, lined and dot grid
• Notes can be saved to a phone via a dedicated scan function, then shared or edited

The pitch is a minimal, carry-everything note tool for commuters, students, travellers and anyone trying to cut paper waste: capture the idea, digitise what matters, and wipe the rest.
