Why it matters

Home gyms tend to fail in one of two ways: the equipment does too little, or it takes up too much room. The Hitgo Crawler, developed by Kingsmith Fitness and presented as an Indiegogo project, aims to address both. According to the maker, the board folds for storage yet opens to a full-size training surface, and it supports more than 20 different exercises on a single platform.

One board, many movements

The maker lists crawling drills, Pilates, ski simulation and climbing training among the workouts, along with belly-wheel-style ab work, rowing-style upper-body exercises and sliding leg flexion. The design is built around crawling, which the campaign describes as a primal movement pattern. Kingsmith Fitness claims the board can activate 94% of the body's muscles, and says the low-impact movements can improve posture and joint mobility in the shoulders, hips and spine while building core strength, agility and balance.

Key specifications, according to the maker

  • Folded height of 12cm, for storage under a bed or in a closet
  • Footprint of under 0.2 square meters when set up
  • Unfolded training area of 2.1m x 0.8m, described as more than twice the size of a typical Pilates board
  • Aircraft-grade aluminum rails rated for up to 300 lb (approx. 136kg)
  • Low 15-inch setup height
  • 3-inch eco memory foam pad with a non-slip surface
  • Weight of 15 lb (approx. 6.8kg), said to be 50% lighter than traditional wooden reformers, with a carry handle

Resistance is adjustable in stages using ankle straps and a pulley bar, which the maker positions as suitable for everything from injury rehabilitation to high-intensity training. Switching between exercises reportedly requires no recalibration. A slider with a safety lock can hold the moving parts in any position, which the campaign says reduces injury risk.

App and screen

The Hitgo Crawler pairs with a smart app over Bluetooth and includes a built-in screen. The maker says the app offers more than 200 guided routines, including yoga, HIIT and rehabilitation, with resistance adjusted automatically, plus a library of more than 100 movements. Progress tracking covers calories burned, repetitions and muscle balance reports.
