LanDiver Wave is positioned as an answer to that either-or choice, described by its maker as a 100% waterproof all-terrain shoe intended for commuting, walks, travel and the outdoors.

A wetsuit material on your feet

The core of the design is a waterproof upper made from neoprene, the same material used in diving suits. The maker says the soft, flexible upper is meant to follow the foot's movement without the stiffness of a conventional rain boot, and that the same pliability makes the shoe easy to slip on and off. The upper is joined to the outsole using a vulcanization process, a treatment used to increase rubber's strength and elasticity, which the maker credits with a strong bond and durability for daily wear.

Grip, cushioning and weight

According to the campaign, the outsole pattern has been newly designed to improve traction on wet and slippery surfaces such as station tiles and damp pavements. Inside, an insole focused on shock absorption is intended to ease the load on the soles of the feet during long days of walking. The maker lists the weight as 1.76lb, approximately 800g.
