PiLY
A screenless health band that records voice notes with one press and tracks heart, sleep and activity
Editor’s view
Why it matters
PiLY starts from a simple premise: by the time you unlock a phone and open an app, the idea you wanted to capture may already be fading. The band is pitched by its maker as a personal AI note taker for the wrist. One press of a button starts recording, and the audio later feeds AI transcription and summaries in a companion app. The same band also logs heart rate, sleep and exercise.
Voice notes, transcribed and organized
According to the maker, PiLY has 1GB of onboard storage, good for about 10 hours of audio, which can be transferred to a smartphone. The app is said to support AI transcription in more than 120 languages, conversion into other languages, and export as audio or text. ChatGPT-based summaries are meant to pull out the key points of long conversations and restructure recordings into notes, task lists or mind maps.
Health and activity tracking
The maker says PiLY tracks heart rate, heart rate variability (HRV), blood oxygen, blood pressure, stress and sleep, using a PPG optical sensor for the heart-related readings. It supports 180 sports and activities, records outdoor routes via the phone's GPS, and syncs with Apple Health and Google Health Connect. As with any wearable, these figures are reference data for reviewing your own trends, not a substitute for diagnosis by a medical device.
Design and policies
- No display; silent vibration alarm instead of sound
- Battery life of up to about 14 days per charge, with roughly 1 hour to charge
- About 16g stainless steel body with interchangeable nylon strap
- IP67-equivalent water and dust resistance; not suitable for swimming
- No subscription or monthly fee for health metrics, features or app updates
- Encrypted transfer of recordings and use without creating an account
- Stated policy of not storing or sharing user data or using it to train AI models
The screenless approach is the band's most distinctive choice: it collects information without pulling the wearer into a stream of notifications. Taken together, PiLY aims to be one quiet device for capturing thoughts and tracking the body, worn around the clock.
