Why it matters
Solar power banks tend to force a trade-off: more capacity usually means more bulk, and the panel and lantern often travel as separate pieces of kit. Tailbone's Lum Pyramid tries to collapse all of that into one device. According to the maker, it pairs a 24,000mAh battery with 65W output, a 23.5% efficiency solar panel and a 600-lumen LED light, and folds down small enough to carry in one hand like a notebook. The name, the company says, draws on the pyramid as a symbol of stability, reflecting a design meant to balance stability when folded with light-gathering efficiency when open.
Charging from sun or socket
The maker claims a full solar charge in 6 hours, crediting monocrystalline silicon cells and its own optical design, and says output on overcast days is about 1.5 times that of conventional products. From a wall outlet, USB-C input of up to 40W is said to refill the battery in 2.5 hours. Pass-through charging lets the unit power a phone or its own LED light while it is being charged, so a blackout setup can keep running as the panel collects energy.
Laptop-class output
The USB-C port delivers up to 65W, which the maker says can bring a 13-inch MacBook Air to 50% in 30 minutes. A USB-A port supports QC3.0 at up to 22W. Two devices can charge at once, with an onboard chip identifying each and allocating power in real time. Safety is handled by a two-layer arrangement of a BMS and a protection circuit board, guarding against overcharge, over-discharge, overheating and short circuits; the company also describes a heat-management system built around a "sandwich structure + air cushion + heat sink" design.
