Majextand S

A 2.5mm-thin, MagSafe-compatible steel phone stand with 360-degree adjustment and a truss-inspired build

Editor’s view

Why it matters

Most phone stands are either bulky or flimsy. Majextand S takes a different route: a thin metal stand designed to stay attached to the back of a phone and fold flat when not in use. The maker describes its guiding idea as building a stand worthy of the phone it holds, with a minimal design and a quiet, metallic finish.

Thin, light and magnetic

According to the maker, Majextand S measures 2.5mm thick when folded and weighs 56g, figures the company calls unusual for a metal stand. It is fully compatible with Apple's MagSafe, and the maker says wireless charging and MagSafe accessories such as card holders and battery packs can still be used without removing the stand. Folding is described as requiring only a light touch, so the stand effectively disappears against the phone's back.

The stand works natively with phones that have built-in magnets, with iPhone and Galaxy named as examples. For other phones, the maker says a dedicated magnetic ring or magnet-compatible case is needed.

Adjustment and positions

  • Unrestricted 360-degree rotation and tilt, with stepless angle adjustment rather than fixed presets
  • Maximum height of 15cm, intended to raise the screen toward eye level for video calls and longer sessions
  • A "floating mode" that positions the phone looking down from above, aimed at capturing hands-on work, art or recipes
  • Use in landscape for video, portrait for calls, or on a desk for photographing documents

Built around durability

The stand is made from high-quality stainless steel and applies a truss structure borrowed from architecture and bridge design. The maker says this allows Majextand S to support more than six times its own weight and stay stable even when bumped or used on a moving train. The company frames the product as a long-lasting tool, noting that its previous-generation products remain in use.

Majextand S was launched as a Kickstarter project, and according to the source its funding reached more than 10 times its goal. It extends a line that began with the laptop Majextand and continued with the tablet-focused Majextand M.
