Why it matters

The pitch behind MUITAVY Chargebox is what the maker calls an "All-in-One Concept": one hub that charges phones, tablets, headphones and laptops at once, without a tangle of loose cables on the desk. The box carries three retractable 80cm (31.5-inch) cables plus a Lightning adapter, so the cords pull out when needed and retract when they are not.

Power and charging hardware

According to the maker, the Chargebox has a total output of 200W. A single cable can deliver up to 165W, and when several cables are in use, each port can supply up to 100W. The campaign also states that two devices can be fed 100W simultaneously, which puts laptop charging within its intended scope.

Inside, the maker says it uses third-generation GaN (gallium nitride) chip technology, which it credits with better energy efficiency and heat dissipation than conventional silicon, allowing a smaller charger without giving up output. The listed safety features cover overcharge, overheating, short-circuit, overcurrent and overvoltage protection.

Ports, cables and extras

  • Three USB-C outputs and one USB-A port, for up to four devices charging at once
  • Three retractable 80cm Type-C cables with magnetic tips that snap to the box when stowed
  • Lightning adapter for Apple devices
  • USB-A port that the maker says also supports a wireless charging adapter
  • TF card reading, added according to the campaign in response to backer requests
  • Four plug variants: US, EU, UK and AU

The maker states that each plug variant was designed to meet the electrical standards of its target region. It also argues that consolidating several chargers into one unit optimizes power use and helps reduce energy consumption and CO2 emissions, though the source offers no figures to support this.
