NanoB9

Small flashlights usually trade brightness for size. NanoB9, developed by London-based design team GADGET ON and presented as a Kickstarter project, takes a different angle: rather than competing purely on output or footprint, it aims to combine versatility and ease of use in a body measuring 30×27×13mm. The maker says it is lighter than a house key and small enough to sit in a wallet or on a keyring without getting in the way. The campaign reports surpassing its funding goal more than 12 times over.

Nine modes, one button

According to the maker, NanoB9 offers nine lighting modes in total. White light comes in four levels: 1, 35, 100 and 200 lumens, with the top setting said to reach several tens of meters outdoors. A red light is intended to preserve night vision for stargazing or late-night trips down the hall, while a 365nm UV light is pitched for checking banknote security marks, spotting mold or examining gemstones. Strobe and red SOS modes cover emergencies.

All modes are cycled with a single button, and the light remembers the last mode used when switched back on.

Hands-free mounting and USB-C power

• Two magnets, located at the center and rear of the body, for attaching to metal surfaces; the maker says they hold on vertical surfaces and do not protrude
• USB-C charging, with a full charge in under one hour
• Up to 15 hours in the 1-lumen night light mode and over an hour in high mode, according to the maker
• Usable while charging

Aluminum or titanium

NanoB9 comes in two materials. The aluminum version has a black anodized finish for corrosion and wear resistance, while the titanium version has a stonewashed finish aimed at EDC enthusiasts. The maker states both are water resistant enough for rain and wet hands, and that the light is designed to withstand drops from around 1 meter.
