Poki Yoki

Anyone who has cared for a small child knows the kids' cup problem: hard to clean, prone to spills, awkward to use. Poki Yoki was started by Gina and Ryan, parents of two, who brought the problem to Ryan's engineer brother-in-law, Eric. Eric worked with cup design specialist Dave to develop a magnetic, modular cup system, and Cristina joined to help bring the brand to market.

Modular by design

According to the maker, the system can be assembled in 8 different configurations. A chosen straw slots into a magnetic collar, the upper and lower components click together, and a twist of the collar locks the top in place. Six different silicone straws let the cup adapt to the drink, the child's mood or developmental stage.

The modularity also extends the cup's life. If a straw gets chewed through, a valve leaks or a seal wears out, the campaign says only that part needs replacing rather than the whole cup, reducing waste.

Leakproof and dishwasher-friendly

The maker describes the cup as fully leakproof, claiming liquid stays inside even if the cup is tipped over or shaken hard. It disassembles completely for cleaning in the top rack of a dishwasher, without special tools, and the company says the parts are made from safe materials and recyclable at end of life.

What's in the sets

Poki Yoki is offered in Starter, Family and Household sets, with the latter two containing more parts. According to the campaign, the Starter Set includes:

• 1 signature cup
• 1 lid
• 2 stackable cups
• 8 top straws
• 2 angled bottom straws
• 1 weighted straw
• 3 magnetic collars
• 2 lid seals
• 2 valves
• 1 signature tote bag

The company says it manufactures with a partner it describes as a world-class tableware maker and works with a logistics team to ship globally, while acknowledging risks such as manufacturing delays, shipping issues and shifts in global trade.
