Prophecy Dice

The idea behind Prophecy Dice is a fusion of two objects: the pocket watch that measures time and the dice that decide fate. Instead of a bag of polyhedrals, the maker has built the dice an RPG table needs (D20, D12, D4, D10/D%, D8 and D6) into a single gear-driven mechanism. Press the button on top, the internals spin at speed, and when they stop the results appear in windows on the side.

The Fate Spinner mechanism

According to the maker, internal gears and springs drive the system, with a button press triggering more than 500 rotations. Release it and the mechanism comes to a precise stop, showing results through two side windows: one side carries the D20, D12 and D4, the other the D10 (D%), D8 and D6, so the device is turned to face whichever die a roll calls for. There are no batteries; the design is purely mechanical and finishes each spin with a crisp click. The pitch is that players no longer need to hunt for the right die or retrieve one from under the table, keeping the game moving during tense scenes.

All-metal build

The device measures 7.5 cm and weighs 240 g, compact enough for a pocket. The housing is zinc alloy finished with detailed relief carvings meant to evoke an ancient relic, while the internal rotating parts are surgical stainless steel. The maker says these parts are designed to sustain accurate spinning over tens of thousands of rotations without developing play or losing performance. Three colours are offered: black, silver and brown, each with a wear-resistant coating.

Optional accessories

• Handmade Slip Case: a handmade leather case modelled on a pocket-watch fob, with clear windows on both sides so the button can be pressed and results read without removing the device. It comes with a 35 cm pocket watch chain.
• Relic Mount: a zinc alloy stand for displaying Prophecy Dice on a table or shelf, or keeping it within reach during play. According to the campaign, its colours are planned as a stretch goal, chosen by backer vote.

The project is aimed at tabletop players who value immersion at the moment of the roll, as well as collectors drawn to design-led objects.
