R72 Grab & Go Vest

Presented as an Indiegogo project, the R72 Grab & Go Vest aims at two audiences at once: people building an emergency kit and people heading into the outdoors. The maker describes a setup of seven modular bags, a buoyancy liner and a simple tent, intended to keep supplies organized and allow quick movement.

A modular bag system

The core idea is a customizable set of bags that attach to the front and back of the vest. The maker says they detach easily, so wearers can carry only what a given situation calls for. Its suggested layout puts a phone, knife and medical supplies up front, with clothing, the tent and food on the back.

Buoyancy liner and build

A removable buoyancy liner comes as standard. According to the maker, it is intended for unexpected water emergencies such as floods or tsunamis, where it serves as a flotation aid, and can double as a pillow when camping. It can be used attached to the vest or on its own.

The campaign describes the vest as made from military-grade materials and designed with weight distribution in mind to reduce strain during extended wear. Additional straps are included so family members or group members can link to one another while moving.

• Seven modular bags for front and back mounting
• Removable buoyancy liner, usable on or off the vest
• Simple tent included in the configuration
• Bottle carrier for a 32-ounce bottle
• Extra straps for linking people in a group
• Ships in a mesh package that can be reused, for example as a laundry bag

What comes next

R72 LLC says its team includes people with backgrounds in disaster response, security and design. The company plans a smaller model for children and modular bags dedicated to camera gear, hunting and fishing, with further refinements to be guided by user feedback. Beyond emergency preparedness, the maker positions the vest for camping, hiking, fishing and photography.
