SANJINZY G4 Cable

Most desks still hold a tangle of separate cables for charging, data and displays, and high-spec cables tend to be thick and stiff. SANJINZY says the G4 Cable is its answer to that trade-off. It is the result of four generations of development and is billed as a full-function USB5 and Thunderbolt5 cable.

Thin without cutting specs

According to the maker, a precision coaxial structure and high-density ultra-thin braiding let it shrink the cable's outer diameter without degrading the internal conductors. The result, it says, is a profile 20% slimmer than standard high-performance USB-C cables on the market. The pitch is that a thinner cable fits more easily into recessed ports on phone cases and compact laptops, takes less room in a bag and tangles less. SANJINZY also says the cable is flexible and springs back to shape after bending.

Claimed performance

• Charging: 240W over Type-C, with safety controls the maker says guard against overcharging and overheating
• Data: transfer speeds of up to 80Gbps
• Video: 16K Ultra-HD at 240Hz, with backward compatibility for 8K, 4K and 1080p
• Durability: a high-strength braided coaxial core rated by the maker at 5 times the durability of typical cables, tested to more than 30,000 bends
• Connectors: 15μ gold plating and LCP flame-retardant material

SANJINZY positions the cable for a wide range of devices, from phones and tablets to large laptops, portable monitors and powered speakers. The data and video figures are aimed at creators moving large video and RAW photo files and at users running high-resolution external displays.

Materials and packaging

The maker states that the cable is fully compliant with RoHS 2.0. It also says the packaging uses 100% recyclable paper and avoids plastic and unnecessary coatings.
