Why it matters
Small cutting jobs come up constantly, yet a full-size knife is impractical to carry and a cheap box cutter can feel flimsy. ScytheBlade is pitched as a middle ground: a lightweight, compact titanium knife designed to live on a keyring.
A hooked blade
The defining feature is the blade shape. Instead of a straight edge, it curves into a hook, which the maker says suits rope, packing string and opening cardboard boxes. According to the campaign, the idea is that you catch the material lightly with the hook and draw through, cutting without excess force, which is also presented as a safety benefit.
Titanium body and frame lock
The body is made of titanium, which the source describes as lighter than stainless steel while offering strength and durability, along with corrosion resistance for outdoor or humid conditions. A frame lock mechanism is included to hold the blade in place during use so it does not move or close unexpectedly.
Made to be carried
ScytheBlade is sized to sit in a pocket or bag without getting in the way, and it can attach to a keychain or carabiner. Suggested uses range from opening deliveries and light work tasks to camping and hiking chores such as cutting rope, simple food prep and opening packages, as well as emergency preparedness.
- Hook-shaped blade aimed at rope, string and cardboard
- Titanium body described as lightweight, durable and corrosion-resistant
- Frame lock mechanism to secure the blade
- Keychain- and carabiner-compatible compact size
The design leans minimal, with the titanium finish front and center. According to the source, the Kickstarter project page drew backing well beyond its funding goal.
