SeatMate

Most dog ramps are purely functional objects that sit awkwardly in a living room. SeatMate takes a different approach: according to the maker, it spends most of its time as an ottoman and converts into a ramp when a dog wants to get up onto the sofa.

Ramp geometry and sizing

The maker says the ramp is set at a gentle 23-degree incline, intended to help older dogs and dogs with weak joints climb smoothly. The campaign describes this angle as joint-friendly and states it is endorsed by veterinarians, with the aim of reducing the impact dogs absorb when jumping down from furniture. Modern-G has not verified these health claims.

As an ottoman it stands 16.00 inches (about 40.6 cm) tall; unfolded into a ramp, the height is 14.50 inches (about 36.8 cm), which the maker says is matched to common sofa heights. It is rated to support up to 225 pounds (about 102 kg) and is designed for small through large breeds.

SeatMate follows the team's earlier SeatMate Pet Office Chair, which the maker says is used by 2,850 dogs. The campaign also states that the team has prior experience in retail sales, which it presents as relevant to manufacturing and distribution.
