Why it matters

Most power banks do one job. Solly Power Bank is pitched as a 3-in-1 device: portable battery, travel adapter and solar charger in a body the maker says is smaller than a standard 330ml can. The idea is to replace the separate laptop brick, plug adapters and battery pack many people carry when traveling.

Solid-state cells

At its core is a 20,000mAh solid-state battery, rated at 74Wh, which the maker notes is under the 100Wh limit commonly applied to carry-on luggage. The maker says that swapping a liquid electrolyte for a solid one improves safety and longevity: in its tests, the battery reportedly did not catch fire, explode or smoke when drilled through, and kept working afterward. It also claims more than 3,500 charge cycles while retaining over 80% capacity, compared with the 1,000 to 1,500 cycles it cites for typical lithium-ion batteries.

Output and charging

  • 300W total output, split across two USB-C ports (140W each) and one USB-A port (20W), according to the maker
  • USB-C ports support PD 3.1; the maker says two laptops can charge at 140W simultaneously without output dropping
  • Smart PCB system with low-current detection for small devices such as earbuds and smartwatches
  • Built-in 110V/220V charger with US/EU/UK plug versions and pass-through charging
  • Full recharge in 26 minutes, per the maker
  • Built-in solar panel intended for emergency top-ups off-grid
  • Smart display of about 17×30mm (0.67×1.18 inches) showing input/output wattage, remaining charge, per-port power distribution, temperature and port status
  • Detachable 100W USB-C lanyard that doubles as a charging cable

Plugged into a wall outlet, the unit can charge itself while powering phones or laptops from its USB ports, so a single socket serves both. The maker describes the solar panel as a supplementary source that charges gradually in sufficient sunlight rather than a primary charging method.

Protection and build

The campaign lists multi-layer protection against overheating, overcurrent, overvoltage, overload, undervoltage and short circuits, with power adjusted in real time and charging halted if an abnormality is detected. The maker also describes the unit as shock-resistant and water-resistant, citing drops and light rain, and says it comes in three colors.
