TinyEdge 2.0

A pocket shaver that runs straight off your phone over USB-C, with a magnetic battery for cord-free use

Editor’s view

Why it matters

Most electric shavers are a little too bulky to carry everywhere, and a dead battery makes them useless at the moment you need them. TinyEdge 2.0 approaches the problem from the power side: with its battery removed, the maker says it can be plugged into a smartphone over USB-C and run directly, with no dedicated charger and no need to top it up the night before.

According to the maker, a touch-up session draws just 0.01% of the phone's battery, which suits quick fixes such as tidying the chin or the area under the nose before a meeting. A power bank can serve the same role.

Two ways to power it

For cable-free use, TinyEdge 2.0 also accepts a 400mAh magnetic battery module. The idea is to switch modes depending on the situation: battery attached at a hotel sink, direct power from a phone or power bank when charge is uncertain. The maker also says the magnetic battery can reverse-charge a smartphone by 5–10% in an emergency, a small reserve rather than a replacement for a full power bank.

Blade, body and care

  • Titanium alloy blade, chosen for hardness, durability and corrosion resistance
  • IPX7 water resistance, with a washable shaving head
  • CNC-machined metal body with a minimal design
  • Magnetic structure for attaching and detaching the battery module

The washable head is meant to make cleanup a quick rinse after use, whether at home or on the road. The machined metal housing gives the shaver the feel of a small piece of precision gear rather than a plastic travel accessory.
